A core division of the Law & Order: SVU show is the plot and story within the scenes. This is not just one of those "amazing" television series with good graphics and visual images, but the stories that the producers and the show's creators come up with are not only crazy and very much out of the ordinary, but also always keep the viewers guessing. There is not an episode for which the outcome is able to be predicted. The shows are usually stories within themselves; therefore a person is not required to keep track of every episode, but rather whenever that individual has some free time and he/she is able to tune in, they can be right in touch with whatever happens to be going on at that particular moment. Law & Order: SVU is not only captivating, but also happens to be convenient to its audience.

Characters

Law & Order: SVU characters, to viewers such as myself, are what really make the show. They have such an onscreen connection that they just make it fun to watch.

The main characters (the protagonists of the episodes), include: Detectives Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler (partners within the NY Special Victims Unit), Detectives John Munch and Odafin Tutuola (also partners), Captain Donald Cragen, A.D.A. Casey Novak (SVU's Defense Attourney), Dr. Melinda Warner (SVU's doctor that performs victim autopsies, and analyzes evidence), and Dr. George Huang (SVU's psychologist that has to study victims and suspects). All of these individuals are the particular people in the show that mean the most to me, as a viewer. I think that without all of these actor/actresses the show would not do as well as it is currently. I feel that there have indeed been roughspots among the many episodes.

Those episodes that were not up to par with the rest all had changes of characters for various reasons (for example Mariska Hartigay had a leave of absence for her pregnancy at one point, and other characters have had other personal reasons for leaving for a short period of time). During these absences, the producers brought in replacement actors/actresses, it was at this time that the show suffered. These examples prove why this amazing cast brings this show together.
